Request from Sublimity Council

Because of the lock-down, the Covered Bridge Cafe in Stayton has really suffered.  While they have remained open for takeout their business is way down and they have a skeleton crew.  They were recently featured on the local and national news, ‘The tears come every day’: Small business owners hope worst is behind them as they look to reopen.
Good news is on the way - as of this Friday they will be opening back up with limited seating - but it will still be tough to make a go of it for quite a while.
The Covered Bridge Cafe has always been there for our community, for example they serve an annual free Thanksgiving dinner to any community members that want one.  In 2018 alone they served free meals to over 1,500 people.
All this gave Brother George Gerspacher an idea - how can we help this business that has been so good to our community in the past?

We are asking our Knights and the greater community to help in two big ways:

  1. Patronize the Covered Bridge Cafe; stop by for a dine-in meal or order take-out and say hi to the owners Cari Sessums and Christy Sessums;
  2. Buy a meal gift card for another local family that has been impacted by the pandemic and/or the lock-down.  You can do this by visiting our kofc2439.org website, select 'Make a Donation' under the 'Shop' menu, and make a donation of any size.  In the Order notes field just write "Covered Bridge Cafe Meals".  100% of your donation will go to Covered Bridge Cafe gift cards that will be given to local families in need.  Just click here to go directly to our donation page.
Thanks in advance for keeping our community strong!
