News on Linda Colins and SJF Breakfast.

As several key members were not available to assist with the SJF breakfast event on May 21, Don and I agreed to postpone the event and tentatively reschedule for June 11. No change in the June 4 breakfast at St. Clare.

Also, hoping you could add a note of thanks on the blog to Paul P. and his two friends Duane and Ken, who helped us with the conclusion of the Linda Collins moving project.
Thanks,
Mike Devlin

Holy Family Clinic Contact info, Meeting Notes Part 1

On April 18, 2023, Sr. Robin Stephenson, CSJ, RN, provided a presentation on the Holy Family Catholic Clinic, located in West Linn, before the meeting.

Holy Family Clinic is a Superior, compassionate and life affirming health care center to patients of all ages, while honoring the sanctity of life from conception until natural dearth, and supporting the Culture of Life.

Their physicians will never prescribe birth control, abortion, or euthanasia to any patient.  And because of these voluntary limitations to what is truly care, this enables them to care for the whole person- physical, psychological, and spiritual.  Sr. Robin told us that one of the patients told her "This is the first doctor who actually LISTENED to me!"

They even offer "abortion pill regret" care that can save the life of children targeted for abortion whose mothers reconsider within 24 hours of taking the first dose of the abortion pill.  15 children today are alive due to this service.

This is a very new ministry- donations will be gratefully accepted!

Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.- 3 John 1:2

Moving Linda Collins, try number 4

We were unable to finish the moving job at Linda Collins apartment Saturday. Her daughter and son in law visited yesterday. However, I was told both have bad backs and are unable to assist with moving the rest of her belongings.
She called me today to ask if any of us may be available to move the rest of the items. I told her we would put out another call for volunteers and ask who may be available later this week.
Thanks,
Mike Devlin

A better link for The Letter

Deacon Bill and Tom Owens have mentioned this movie about the Pope, from PBS/Frontline.  This is a better link to watch The Letter on Youtube.

Linda Collins Move- no key yet. Rescheduled for April 15

Correction to last post- should have been April 8.  But she still didn't get the key to the new apartment, and so, this has now been rescheduled for April 15

Linda Collins needs help moving her belongings next Saturday morning, April 15 from a 2nd floor apartment to a first floor unit in the same Covington Square apartment complex.

Please let me know if you can assist us in this project. Her address is: 2905 SW 214th Avenue, #49. I am suggesting we meet 9:30am. Need as many volunteers as possible, as there are many items to move. Could use trucks if available and appliance dollies if available.
Thanks,
Mike Devlin

St. Clare Easter Egg Hunt 2023

 There's MORE.

We could use more volunteers.  For most of these positions, we'd ask that you have your child protection training up to date.

Hello everyone,

Thank you all for reaching out offering your time to help Volunteer for the St Clare Easter egg hunt or if you are looking to help!

The good news is we have so many stuffed eggs! Nice work everyone who has helped donate and/or stuff eggs!

I wanted to send a reminder to all of you wonderful volunteers on the details on the areas you have signed up to help or if you are looking for areas to help.

  • Setup - Saturday at 4 pm arrive at St Clare. Go to the school playground gate. Help mark the egg hunt zones on the school playground.
  • Hide Eggs - Sunday at 7:30 am arrive at St Clare. Meet in the parking lot or make your way to the playground. We will be hiding lots of eggs in 4 roped off zones throughout the playground and fields.
  • Guides - Leave mass early after communion and help guide families to the correct age zone for their kids when they come out of mass. I could use more people for this.
  • Monitors in aged zones - Need 1-2 more ppl for this. You monitor an egg hunt zone for a particular age group for about 5 min helping hold kids back before it starts.
  • Clean up after egg hunt. Meet on the playground after egg hunt. This will include looking for any eggs not picked up and taking down the poles and ribbons of the zones.
Egg Hunt Zones Color and Breakdown:
1) 0-3 Age Zone - Purple Bunny. This is the closest zone as families make their way out of church in the field with the garage shed to the right.

2) 4-6 Age Zone - Yellow Bunny. This is the swing set zone

3) 7-9 Age Zone - Pink Bunny. This is the playground zone

4) 10-12 Age Zone - Blue Bunny. This is the far soccer field.

If you are not signed up and able to help please add your name to the google sign up sheet. Also any hours volunteered count towards your school in-parish or preschool daycare volunteer hours.

Please reach out if you have any questions and THANK YOU ALL!!!

From the State Deputy

Brother Knights,  I think we all know the basic tenets of Holy week, and the special time it is for Catholics and other Christian denominations. One thing we sometimes forget though is that this is like Super Bowl week for our parish priests. He is going to be busy every day this coming week, and much busier as we head into next weekend (Easter).  Please, as a council and as individuals, talk to your parish priest, and ask him what he would like councils and individuals to do to support him. Be sure to have council support for your parish on Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday.  Make sure that all the ministries are staffed. If you have adoration on Holy Thursday, make sure that Knights are there in numbers. Be ushers and greeters on Easter Sunday.  This may be the one day a year a lapsed Catholic comes back to Mass. Make sure he feels welcome. Please, no "long time, no see" comments. Preach the Gospel with your actions! It may make all the difference in the world to one soul. Warmly welcome your new brothers and sisters in Christ at Easter vigil, and talk to the men about what the Knights of Columbus are all about and how we would love to walk with them as they continue their Faith journey. Every Knight in the parish can be a blessing this next week, so let's be fully involved. And when it's all over, invite your parish priest to dinner, or at the very least, come up to him and thank him for his vocation. No priest means no sacraments. It would not be Holy week without him.

Vivat Jesus.

The State Officers wish you and your families a very blessed Easter season, and look forward to seeing many of you at the upcoming convention in Hermiston.
God bless,
