Change in Leadership. Christmas Party Canceled
As First Trustee, I regret to inform the council that our Grand Knight and Deputy Grand Knight have resigned. Due to this, we are canceling the Grotto visit and the Chili Potluck Christmas Party on December 9. Please stay tuned for additional information, as we work our way through what the future of this council will look like.

Save the Date, December 9
We will meet for our mini-pilgrimage to the Grotto and Christmas Party at 12:30pm at St John Fisher. Please bring a chili for our chili potluck after the mini-pilgrimage in a self-warming crockpot to share. We will be hearing from our Essay Contest Winners and we will find out on this day who the Knight of the Year and Family of the Year is.
Help Sister Dorothy Move! Wednesday, November 29
If you can volunteer for this, please do so. I realize it's short notice, but this was discussed at the meeting.

Essay Contest Winners
We had no entries from St. Clare's, and a couple of ties from St. John Fisher, so unless anybody has any objections I'd like to give the St. Clare's prize money to additional students from SJF, and name five winners in three places. The Essays this year were excellent, you can e-mail seebert42@gmail.com to get access to the original essays and score sheets.
First Place: #27 Ariana Mazloomi
Second Place Tied: #17 Luke Malnati #24 Brooks Rice
Third Place Tied: #5 Fiona Eikenberry #19 James Miller
If you have some time I certainly suggest asking for read access to the dropbox folder and reading the essays. I learned about Saints and saints- Canonized and living- around the world and in our community- many of which I had never heard of before.
The winners will be invited to join us on our pilgrimage and rosary at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and our Chili Potluck on December 9th at St. John Fisher. Further details to be announced.

Breakfast Results
Sorry to forget to do this! Thank you to all who volunteered.
Breakfast at St. Clare's on November 5, Gross $653, Net $440; was a bit lighter net because we stocked up on things we needed and could keep for February, and we bought a bit more food (500 sausages, could have gotten by maybe with 450, about 50 went home at the end of the day, but we used all of our normal sausages, all of the maple, and were working on the sausage patties during the last mass) (35 dozen eggs, I saw less than a gallon of cooked eggs left over) (30 lbs of pancake mix, could have done a bit less here, we has several bags of pancakes left over).
All in all an excellent breakfast. Thank you all again.

Brother Daniel Salomon GK---November Meeting
Dear Brother Knights,
Our monthly council meeting will be on November 20th at 7pm at our usual time and place.
At 7pm at Brother Ted's request, I have invited Martin Nicholson, Curator from the Hoyt Arboretum in Portland, Oregon to talk about the role of trees in reducing our carbon footprint in the spirit of Pope Francis' 2015 Encyclical Laudito Si "On Care for Our Common Home."
Since Martin is not a knight, we will not officially and ceremonially open the meeting until 7:30pm.
There will also be time for additional feedback, conversation and open dialogue about Martin's talk during our official meeting agenda.
Martin plans not to get into anything controversial and he is very soft-spoken. I think you will like him.
Please be a good Catholic witness to him and be welcoming to him.
Looking forward to seeing you all this Sunday at the breakfast at St. Clare's.
Looking forward! Happy All Saints Day and All Soul's Day! May the Peace of Christ be with you! Thanks so much!
Sincerely,
Brother Daniel Salomon GK

But we're missing one key player: 2nd shift egg scrambler. If time is a bother, well, we really only need you from 11:15 to noon (by then we should be beginning cleanup). If you are NOT on the above list (everybody on the above list has gone above and beyond the call of duty already) and think you can spend 45 minutes scrambling eggs in a cast iron skillet, please let Ted Seeber know at seebert42@gmail.com .
If you can't scramble eggs, we can still use your help. Minor positions that are still available are serving line and dining room, for both 9:30am-10:30am and 11:45am-12:15pm shifts. Notice that for these, you would still be able to attend Mass, as long as you left before the announcements to let us know that Mass is over and we're about to get hit.
