Meeting Minutes 2-15-2022

Recorder is excused.  Ted Seeber will take minutes 

7:02 Marc Gregoire called meeting to order.  Card check waived.   Prayer and allegiance.

10 officers 1 member Present.  

7:06 Kim Zea, Special guest St. Clare Faith Formation and Pastoral Associate.  At St. Clare's Since November.  With Archdiocese for 25 years.  Youth Director, St. Thomas More.  Then John The Baptist, and recently moved to St. Clare's.  Here to listen to our Mission and promises to help support the council.  Eucharistic Ministers are coming back slowly- so if you sign up, rotation will be slow.  Same with ushers, greeters, and readers

7:15 GK Remarks- Mt. Angel Floor Update- Architect hired, work is likely to begin in May.  Monks will use seminarians dining room.  Forms due- Fraternal Survey submitted, Audit Submitted.

Fraternity Checking balance  $1,585.45

Unity Savings Account balance       $543.79

Charity Savings Acct. balance          $5.71

Financial Secretary Report- Membership- 2nd notice to 3 members, 1 paid, 1 no address, 1 new address 
Oregon State Convention - Lebanon .  We need volunteers- we've been included in the committees so we should send somebody this year.  
Semi-annual audit submitted yesterday, Supreme has it.  Fraternal Survey form was received.  Founder's Day March 29, Day of the unborn child March 25th.

Charity is important- Remember Matthew 25- Remember the Golden Rule.  Love God with all your Heart, Soul, and Being and Love your neighbor as yourself.

One Gospel, Four Authors, but this is the center of the Message- for God sees everything, and even our small actions we will be judged on.  We funnel everything we do as Fr. McGivney wanted us to do- to serve others in Charity.

7:48 Life is Messy- Not a really good regular book.  Not real chapters- more sections.  Discussion was on  First 26 pages.

Honesty with his losses.  There are losses, there is brokenness, but ultimately, God is always with us.

8:05 pm Current Business:

  • No Neighbor Left Behind- Calls went out over the weekend.
  • Oregon March for Life - Gene had health problems and wasn't able to.  
  • Holy Hour- Archbishop Sample asked, prayer cards at doors at St. Clare's, will dedicate the next several month's of First Saturday Holy Hour to the Synod.  We pray the Synod Prayer at 2:55, Chaplet at 3pm, Pro-Life Rosary at 3:10pm, Benediction at 3:45pm   Still have First Tuesdays at St. John Fisher
  • Essay Contest- our winners were sent to SJF bulletin and passed on to State.
  • Seminarians- Waiting on new names
  • Special Needs Mass- no new news until Mask Mandate is lifted

James Morgan (currently in emergency room leg infection- needed 12 pages of lab reports and high blood pressure), for all doctors nurses and frontline workers
GK Marc Gregoire still recovering from surgery
Mary Muoth- unknown illness

Shannon Seeber goes in for Brain Surgery on March 14th
Carter Cruise- currently in hospice
