7:10 pm - Reading / Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes (September)

7:15 pm - GK’s Remarks (Don Mey)

  • Check blog get new guys to go through the safe environment training.
  • Next Breakfast- for Sunday October 22. 
  • Thank you to Anastasia Paulsen and Jazlyn Moulton for help with breakfast.  Biggest breakfast ever- ran out of eggs, ran out of sausage, ran out of blueberry pancakes.

7:20 pm - District Deputy Remarks (Mark Larson)

  • Wear your shirts, wear your badges, wear your pins.  Recruit, Recruit, Recruit!
  • Print your calendar and post it!  It's a great way to recruit.  Pass the calendars around!  Figure out how to print google calendar.

7:25 pm - Treasurer’s Report (Mike Devlin)

  • Checking, $2796.75, Unity, $544.19, Charity $5.71. Report accepted

7:30 pm - Financial Secretary’s Report (Erik Riechers)

  • Cute story about boys at breakfast stealing sugar packets (what they don't know is we're still on our 1st box of sugar packets- purchased in 2011, likely before they were born).  Advocate to deliver check to St Joseph's in Salem.  Coats for kids have gone out.  Received a letter with enclosed portraits.  Report Accepted

7:35 pm - Membership Reports

  • Membership Director (Dan Riechers) 
    • Good and bad- Eric Burrel, Charter GK of Rose of Lima Council, will join when he returns from his mother's stroke.  Paul R. is flying to Europe.  Andy is moving slowly, we will probably get him. Membership is going in a good direction.
      Will talk to Fr. Don about an after mass announcement.

  • St. Clare- 2nd Grade and above do Mass on Thursdays- but the only people who see it are weekday mass participants.  We have a once a month family mass- from here on out a class will be responsible as readers, greeters, servers and 8th graders will be extraordinary ministers.  That will help us with breakfasts greatly.
  • St. John Fisher (Mike Devlin)
  • St.John Fisher- Breakfast coming!  email Mike Devlin to volunteer.  SJF school mass is 12pm on Wednesdays.  Suggest maybe a 3rd Sunday mass & breakfast in conjunction with the school.  Prayer Service for Peace on Friday, October 20, Gene to post additional detials

7:55 pm - Faith / Community / Family

  • Our one vacant director is life- we really need one.
  • Job is to keep people aware of events and form committees

8:00 pm - KofC Business

  • Audrey has done some Mater Dei interviews
  • Pancake Breakfast SJF October 22nd.  Check your calendar, contact Mike Devlin to volunteer
  • SC and SJF Coffee & Donuts- we just did it at SJF last Sunday.  Will volunteer again after the 1st of the year.  Need to include Dan!!!!!
  • New Pancake Breakfast Dates will be on Calendar
  • Shirt Order!  Will be on the blog- will have instructions to return to Dan your order
  • Fr. Jom Homeless toiletry bags- donations are now accepted for November distribution.  Boxes needed.  Med size packing boxes work best.  Volunteers check calendar for dates- November 18
  • Coats for Kids- not enough money for initial purchase- encourage individual members to donate
  • Mike O'Phelan Cor program director.  Still working on making it a part of our ministry.  Talk to Elizabeth Hamilton and Kim Zea
  • SJF Wine and Cheese- Parishoners sign up to donate, sometimes organizers donate.  3-4 bottles of wine, water for kids, cheese.  Donation people.  30-45 minutes.  Zero danger of overindulging.  Last Sunday of the month after 5pm Mass.  Maybe quarterly.  Do we have the manpower is the question on the floor.  Quarterly is the proposal due to lack of manpower. 10 Ayes, 4 nays, referred to committee for more information, motion passed.

8:15 pm - KofC New Business

  • Venmo discussion.  Check with 3591 on how it is tracked through e-mail.  Will people give less?  Not really- less.  Could also use for other things.
  • Discussion on placemats

8:20 pm - For the Good of the Order (Mike O’Phelan)

  • Prayer for Peace in Israel and Palestine with crucifix and Star of David (the one from Sojourner's Magazine that was posted to the blog)
  • Giving to the State of Oregon 365 fund- think about adding $3.65 to your dues for our fellow Knights.
