7:05 pm GKs' Remarks  --- Marc Gregoire

  1. The 113th Annual Oregon State Convention (April 30 - May 2) turned out to be a very successful convention.
  2. There was a Fraternal Benefits Night - Long Term Care on May 17.
  3. There was a Potter's Field ceremony to denote the past event where 164 unclaimed dead bodies were buried at Potter's Field.
  4. Real Drivers' License ID is not due until 5/3/2023.
  5. There are no forms due until June.
7:10 pm  For the Good of the Order  --- Mike O'Phelan

       Discussed the book I heard God Laugh.  He noted that we are spiritual beings in physical bodies.  It's important to find a quiet-space where we can communicate with our creator through the Holy Spirit.  Reemphasized that life is a gift from God and we should thank the Holy Spirit for his guidance.

7:20   Treasurer's Report --- Mike Devlin

Beginning Balance 5/20/21          $1,707.19

Add:  $86.50   (365 Plan);
 $300 donation Abbey floor project;
 $70 from 2 member's dues.

Minus: $  36.50 (365 Plan)
               650 Abbey floor donation

Current Balance                          $1,477.19

Unity Savings Account $ 543.57
Charity Savings Account $10.67

Outstanding checks for $36.50 (365 Plan) & $300 Abbey floor donation.

7:25 pm  Financial Secretaries Report --- Phil Jarvis

  1. No change in membership.
  2. Still 4 members who haven't paid their dues.    
7:30 pm   Committees

  1.        Program Director Gene Andres ---  Nothing new to report.
  2.        Saint Clare Parish  --- Ted Seeber & Mike O'phelan: Mother's Days were printed and given           out to mother's on Mother's Day.  We received a newsletter from Mother & Child and they             could always need more economic help.  Masks are still required at all masses & at school!
  3.        St. Elizabeth of Hungary --- Like all parishes, they could use more donations.
  4.        St. John Fisher established a new rule that you don't have to wear a mask if your vaccinated.         Recommended that the left-over mother's days cards be given to the Faith Formation women.
  5.       Faith Director Don Mey --- Wear a mask at St. Clare Parish & there will be a Sunday choir.
  6.       Community Director Michael Chau --- said if anyone needs help to call on him.
  7.       Life Director Ted Seeber --- Work with Mother & Child will be put on back burner.
  8.       Family Director Ted Seeber --- We have a membership June 5th & 6th at end of each mass.
  9.       Membership Director Ted Seeber --- His son, Christopher, will become a member in June.
  10.       Retention Chairman Mike O'Phelan discussed members he's trying to get dues from.
7:40 pm   K of C Business

      No Neighbor Left Behind --- James M. Morgan reported everyone was doing fantastic.

      Tree Planting Work Party --- Gene Andres reported 7 trees were planted on the property line with            neighboring Lutheran Church.

      St. Clare's Rebuilding Together program to assist a person in need was a success.

      RE: The Mount Angel Abbey Floor for the Monks program; 5 knights gave $650.00.

      Ted Seeber discussed the live exemplification planned at St. Clare's Parish: rehearsal 
      be a teleconference on 5/26/21 and the live service will be 6/26/21.  He also discussed a new
      recruitment drive planned for 6/6/21.  There hasn't been any news on the Special Needs Mass.

     We discussed I Heard God Laugh.  Turns out that St. Augustine was quite a party-goer when he
     was young.  We discussed "Why do we pray".

8:10 pm  New Business

     Nominated new officers.  I will release names after they are voted in at our next meeting.

8:20 pm   District Deputy / State Officers --- Dan Boone did not attend our meeting.
 
      If we have any members who have lost their jobs or who are in financial difficulties: State will adjust their per capita billing; so we don't have to worry about charging them any dues for this fraternal year.

8:25 pm   Sick or in Distress 
       
     Prayed for Ted Seeber's father who is recovering from a stroke and coronary issues; for Dan Riecher's mother and his father; Tim Richards who is in 4th degree kidney failure; and for all of those who are in need of our Lord's care.

8:30 pm 

     God bless the work of the council and its members and grant eternal peace to the souls of departed
 members
