Volunteer Call for March 1 Breakfast At St. Clare's
The normal slots are available:
Saturday Night Setup after Mass on February 29, 6pm-8pm (we're usually done by 7).
Sunday morning setup & cooking & serving 7am-10:30am (Ted will have the kitchen open at 6:30 am- but we aren't serving until 9:30 am so it's ok if most of you don't show up until 8).
Sunday Morning reset, serving after 11:45 Mass, and cleanup- 10:30 am- 2pm (the more hands we have makes this shorter)
As normal, not just Knights, but also families and friends are encouraged to volunteer. Volunteering with the Knights of Columbus counts for School Parent Volunteer Hours and Confirmation Volunteer Hours.
We have one more special job available, which Ted will take if nobody else does. We will be presenting scholarship checks to seminarians at this breakfast. They need transportation from and to Mt. Angel Seminary.
Please contact seebert42@gmail.com to volunteer. And thank you ahead of time!

A Lenten Opportunity from St. Clare's
From Deacon Bill- looking for volunteers to commit to a Holy Hour weekly during Lent.
As you are aware, Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, scheduled this year on February 26th. Our goal is to provide our entire community with more opportunities to have a fruitful and spiritual experience in order to embrace and connect with our loving and merciful God. As a result, the church will be open two days a week for one hour on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2:30-3:30pm enabling parishioners to spend some quiet time with Jesus who is present in our midst in the Tabernacle. Spiritual books, bibles and rosaries will be available to help us focus on the season of Lent
preparing us for the great feast of Easter, or you can just avail yourselves of some sacred space for peace. And, if you cannot commit to an hour, please stop by for the time that you have.
Your help is needed!
For security reasons, the church cannot be left ‘unattended, so I am asking for at least 3 people to commit to staying the full hour on each of the 8 available days, March 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19, April 1 and 2 (March 25 and 26 are not included due to the school Spring break.) In total, 24 time slots need to be filled. Volunteers are welcome to serve for more than one day. If you are able to help, please sign up at the east church door or email me at dcnbill@saintclarechurch.org with available dates. School parents may earn in-parish tuition hours for volunteering. St. Clare is such a great
community, I am certain all the time slots will be filled! Thank you! ~ Deacon Bill

Info on Tom's friend Sara
Hi Phil,
I talked with Sara a few minutes ago and she is excited to know that the Knights will be providing $100 to help as a backup for volunteer rides she will need to doctor appointments. She does not have a VISA or Pay Pal card but has a checking account with On Point at the West Burnside location.
Thanks much for your help. She will be able to drive again soon and is looking for a used car to buy with monthly payments of about $200-300 a month. I'll share this request with Ted to distribute in case any Knights know of a used car in working condition that she could buy.
God bless,
Tom Owens

Address update, a test
This post is a test asked for by our FS Phil.
Apparently Ted did not make the change correctly. For 10pm tonight Pacific Time, an e-mail is automatically sent out from the blog. Due to good e-mail marketing etiquette, that is supposed to contain our council address. Since Phil sold his house, that address has changed. The new address is:
C/O Phil Jarvis
10205 SW Cornell Rd #313
Hillsboro, OR 97124
USA
It is our belief that we've found the right set of fields in Mailchimp, and this will be correct on tonight's e-mail.

Caught it in time
With your prayers, the good news is that we caught the pneumonia in time. Your GK will be back in form in time to open the council chamber, before going to the service of light for his son's confirmation, to return late in the meeting.
I'm on azithromycin to knock out a small bacterial infection in my lungs that the flu let in over the weekend, and I'll be getting some more medications today that were on back order yesterday.
thank you all for your prayers
Ted

G.K. Ted may have pneumonia...
Please keep our Grand Knight Ted Seeber in your prayers. He fears that his flu may have turned into pneumonia. His illness prevented him from assisting at the St. John Fisher breakfast yesterday. Hopefully, he will be well soon as he's sorely missed and needed.

Update on Linda
Ted-
Linda called me today to inform me that the schedule for moving a couch she is buying now will occur on Friday, 1pm. Please send a message to our group asking if anyone is available to help me load and/or unload the sectional. Pick up is in SW Portland and delivery to Linda's house in Beaverton.

Linda needs to do some moving again
From Mike Devlin:
Thanks for the message about the pancake breakfast. Yesterday I received a call from Linda, the lady we helped move last year. She needs some help moving a sofa sectional she is buying from someone who lives on Dosch Road.
I would need some help, as I am told there are a couple of recliners among the sectional couch pieces. She is renting a truck on either Wed. or Thurs. afternoon this week, depending on our availability.
The job would be loading the couch at the Dosch Road site and unloading at Linda's house in Beaverton.
My preference would be Wed., 1pm.(but I could also be available Thursday). Please distribute this message to our group. Likely I would only need one other brother to pull this off.
Please contact Mike Devlin if you are available.
Thanks,
Mike Devlin
