All hands on deck! All shifts available! Breakfast on February 3rd at St. Clare's.
As usual, we'll run our standard 3-shift rotation. Setup, February 2nd, 6pm-8pm (usually really 6-7 if we get enough help). Ted Seeber will have the kitchen open at 6:30 AM to start coffee. Depending on your job description, 2nd shift is 8am-10:30am, and if you aren't cooking, you can make it to Mass with a Judas Shuffle (coming back to tell us when the Eucharist is going on). 3rd shift is 10:45-2pm, and if we have a lot of people volunteering for cleanup it is usually all over earlier.
Please send your shift preference to seebert42@gmail.com. Knights and families, as usual, get first priority.

From the National March for Life- many of these women are quite clever
The Daily Signal, which often covers stories that mainstream media simply will not, has a must see photo essay of the March for Life on the 28 best signs spotted, the majority of which seem to be hand drawn artwork.

On the importance of Form 1728
My brothers,
Recently, as I'm sure you've all seen in the news, two senators choose to challenge one of President Trump's judicial nominees on the basis of his membership in the Knights of Columbus.
Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska considered this to be so serious that he wrote Senate Resolution 19, which passed the Senate by Unanimous Consent (without a vote).
The text can be seen at this link and as you can see, references the Form 1728 Fraternal Survey directly, in the arguments for why the Knights of Columbus is NOT a terrorist organization.
You won't see me violating the partisan politics rule, despite my strong feelings on politics. And SR19 does not clearly, as it made its point to such an extent that even the original two Senators who charged us with being an anti-woman organization, did not dare object.
Please Download and Fill Out this PDF, and forward it to pdjarvis1@comcast.net, so that we may compile this most important form. It's not just about tax status, it's about religious freedom in the United States itself.

A "Future Knight"
Hezikiah Vouche was born Monday at 3:45 pm. A bouncing baby boy. Polinus and Nancy tell me they will wait until the spring for the Baptism. The council gave them a Baby Blanket and "Future Knight" bibs.

From St. Vincent De Paul St. Clare Chapter
Though I'm pretty sure this likely applies to SJF Chapter as well, given the ongoing emergency for federal employees when it comes to food:
The Giving Tree/St. Vincent de Paul Good Box Project was great and helped nearly eighty families to have a merrier Christmas. Thanks to all who made it possible, organizers, donors, and worker/delivery folk. It takes a village!
And now the St. Vincent de Paul cupboards are bit bare. They're asking especially for peanut butter, jams and jellies, chicken helper, canned fruit and oranges, tomato soup, saltines, and personal care items. You can leave items in the basket inside the church door--or you can take them to the church office. Thanks!
