A Very Successful Breakfast
Despite being a bit shorthanded, the breakfast was very successful. Some raw numbers:
$804 Gross
$304 expenses - $293 in Ken Paulsen's shopping, Ted and Shannon paid for ziplock bags and chocolate packets.
$500 profit.
160 breakfasts served, with an average of $5/breakfast donation, $1.87 in expenses per plate.
There were some hiccups on cooking fast enough without our normal egg man and without our normal pancake flipper, but a BIG thank you to James Michael Morgan, Gene and Cathy Andres, Christopher and Ted Seeber, and Rich DiGregorio on setup Saturday, which was accomplished before 5pm Mass. To Ken Paulsen for shopping.
On Sunday, Ted and Christopher started making coffee early, and Gene and Mike Devlin also arrived early for setup. Scott Young did make a brief appearance to mix up the batter, and Ted and Mike Devlin double-teamed pancake flipping, while Michael Chau and Gene dealt with eggs. Gene and Mike dealt with the sausage, while Richard DiGregorio did the fruit. Erik and Dan and John Creegan and Tom Owens dealt with the Dining room, while Paul and Rich, Michael Chau and Ted Seeber handled the serving line. Mike Devlin kept up with both dishes and blueberry pancakes. Shannon and Beth Bailey helped with table resetting, leading to 98 breakfasts served for the first rush, and 62 for the 2nd rush. We had everything back in the closet by 2:30 pm.
