OCTOBER IS RESPECT LIFE MONTH

The United States Council of Catholic Bishops have designated October Respect Life Month and the first Sunday of October Respect Life Sunday.   In August, the United States USCCB Committee on Pro-Life Activities released a document in which they expressed concerns about the recent changes by The Food and Drug Administration that made the abortion pill more easily accessible.  Here is a link to the document: (USCCB Announcement)   In the announcement they invite “all Catholics to join a focused effort of prayer and action to stop the spread of abortion pills”.  Click on the link “ Respect Life Prayer and Action ” to connect to the USCCB Respect Life web site to sign up (click the “Join Now”) to receive email notices of prayers and pro-life activities throughout the month.  Also included is a suggested prayer for the intercession of Mary the Mother of life (click here) and St. Joseph Defender of Life (click here) .    Especially during this month ...

Successful Breakfast at SJF, Repeat at SC next week

Since somehow my recap of the Breakfast at SJF didn't post, I'm combining two posts in one.  First, SJF- syncing with the School Mass is beginning to pay off- we had 75 breakfasts out for the 9am Mass seating, and an additional 20 breakfasts out for the 10am Mass, for a total of 95 breakfasts served. Shift 1 is Saturday night after 5pm Mass- setup Shift 2 is Sunday 6:30am-10:15am (though many of the jobs on this shift might be 8-10:30 or 9-10:30, you might even be asked to go to 8:30 Mass and return after you get the Eucharist to let us know when Mass is letting out) Shift 3 is Sunday 10:30am-2pm (though we...
