Brothers In The Spirit COR Group on Theology In The Body

In May, Brothers In the Spirit at St. Clare's, our COR outreach group that came from the November ACTS retreat spent Saturday mornings discussing St. Pope John Paul The Great's Theology of the Body. In thanks to our Knight brothers Daniel Salomon and David Villegas, this summary of our discussions came out in the email this morning, and I'm posting it here for the Good of the Order. Dear Brothers in Christ,  As we conclude our month-long discussion on Theology of the Body, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to each of you for your participation, openness, and thoughtful contributions. The conversations we shared were rich, engaging, and deeply meaningful. Your willingness to reflect honestly and wrestle with profound questions helped make this study both intellectually stimulating and spiritually fruitful. One of the greatest blessings of our final discussion was the emergence of several important and insightful questions regarding how we understand and perceive Theolog...

Breakfast Results April 12

$722 gross making $261.60 Expenses (including the syrup error) The crowd was surprisingly light,  only 10 girls showed up for Children's choir. We served 64 breakfasts for the first Mass and 40 for the second.  This was very lite for St Clare's. Thank you to all who volunteered especially Casey LeAir, our youngest Knight to be, volunteering with his father Mark LeAir.

Final Call for Volunteers

We can still use help with the 2nd half of the 2nd shift for the Breakfast on April 12- say 11:45-2pm if we can get enough volunteers for cleanup. Contact seebert42@gmail.com  if you can help us out!

April 12 Breakfast at St. Clare's is also running into scheduling conflicts

And thus, the available volunteer slots have once again changed: April 11 3:30pm-5pm - Load in groceries.  Stack all items from closet on Butcher Block Counter.  New refrigeration units (white refrigerator and freezer to the right of the refrigerator) available for cold food. April 12 6:30am-10:15am - First shift.  IF you can't make the early start and you normally do a job that doesn't require it, it's ok to start later, but we will not get to organize the kitchen or set up tables until 6:30am, so the more help the better for this time period.  I will allow anybody helping with serving or dining room to escape at 8:30am for Mass, as long as you come back immediately after taking the Eucharist to tell us that communion is going on. April 12 10:30am-2:30pm, 2nd shift and cleanup.  Same deal for anybody on serving line or dining room, you may escape to 10:45 Mass.  All items must be back in the closet and everything locked up by 3pm. A Message from Hope's Garden

Dear Hope’s Garden Community, Just like the changing of seasons,  all things must come to an end. But before you pull out the tissues, this goodbye isn’t what you think. Today, we’re stepping into a new beginning! Over the past year, we’ve witnessed growth—not just in our program, but in the lives of the women and children who call Hope’s Garden home. With that growth came a desire to more fully reflect the heart of this mission. That is why we’ve thoughtfully reimagined our brand, including a new logo and a completely redesigned website. This update is more than a new look. It’s a clearer expression of who we are, what we value, and the hope that continues to bloom here each day. We invite you to explore our new website and experience this next chapter with us: www.growinghopesgarden.org As you scroll, we hope you see our heart and know this was only made possible because of  you. Thank you for being part of Hope’s Garden. Until Next Time, Christine Kelly Director of P...

Rosary for Florence Morris Sunday Afternoon

Image
My Dear Brothers, Ladies, and Friends: Anyone who has attended a State Convention or Mid-Year meeting knows Florence Morris.  From leading rosary-making sessions to helping prepare meals and joining in many Knights of Columbus activities, Florence has been an icon within the Oregon Knights of Columbus for many years.     Now, our 2022 Oregon Lady of the Year, who has prayed for so many of us and our causes, could use our prayers.  As many of you know, Florence has been battling cancer and all the side ailments that go along with it.  She is such a strong believer in the power of prayer, and this is our chance to be strong for her. The Oregon Knights of Columbus will lead a virtual Rosary - this Sunday, March 22nd, at 1:00 p.m.    The link to attend online, along with the telephone number to call in, is listed below. Please pass the word, this is open to all.   If you cannot attend at that time, please take some quiet time on ...

If you have a few hours to donate Thursday Night, we can still use a few spare seat belts for driving the ACTS participants down to Mt Angel.  You do NOT need to have participated in November to drive a few ladies down. Here is the original volunteer request, form, and contact info.  Dear Brothers, In just two weeks, a new group of 25 ACTS retreatants and their supporting team will gather in Mt. Angel for the 2025 Women’s ACTS Retreat, taking place March 12–15. As their ACTS Brothers, we are asking for your support to help make the first Women's ACTS Retreat at St. Clare a success. There are several ways to get involved, from the send-off on Thursday, March 12 to the Candlelight service on Saturday, March 14, as well as the Sunday return luncheon that is being run by the parish. Please review the volunteer options and sign up for a time that fits your schedule using the link below: https://docs.google.com/ spreadsheets/d/ 17vi8UBMcs8qnOsF7xnFnEMiCbI7I3 RNp/edit?usp=sharing...
