Dreams beginning to be realized

I don't even remember what year it was when I stood up in front of the Men's Morning of Reflection and said "We need a Knights of Columbus Council at St. Clare's". I know it was before Christopher was born- likely 2001 or 2002. I myself didn't get around to joining the Knights until 2008. In 2009, John Waters (who has yet to join- if anybody knows him, work on him) tossed a wrench into the works when he made the request through Supreme and the State for us to have a council at St. Clare's- I had barely started the roundtable with just myself, Tom Owens, and Michael Chau at that point. In 2010, we merged with the almost non-existent St. John Fisher Roundtable to work a bit harder on Membership. In 2011, I got a strange call from the St. Clare's office- that a man had called at random looking for a council in the area to join. James Michael Morgan became one of my strongest supporters- and even painted St. Anthony's school two months after tra...

A dream

One day I'd love to build a Chapel specifically for the Knights of Columbus that is *designed to accomodate* both Novus Ordo and Tridentine Mass, as well as the four degrees. It would be in the more traditional Cross shape, the altar would be on rails and when in Novus Ordo position would be over a trap door to a stairs going down to four basement rooms for the four degrees. We could then have a retreat designed around a Friday Night Novus Ordo, a Saturday Morning Latin Mass and Eucharistic Adoration- that also uses the Chapel as the Antechamber for the degrees and provides First Degree after the Novus Ordo Mass, 2nd Degree after the Latin Mass, and 3rd Degree after Eucharistic Adoration. With a separate retreat for 4th degree. Even better yet- if such a chapel could be integrated with an assisted living center and retreat house- then retired Knights could provide the teams for the degrees.

T-Shirts

A member of our parish that I've asked to be a Knight, but who has never gotten back to me, Mike Brown, owns a T-shirt printing shop. I think we should get some T-shirts printed up for our little roundtable, we could probably get them done pretty cheaply through Mike. Got any suggestions on what to put on them? Emblem of the Order, that sort of thing? Comment below. Update! We now have our council number. The T-shirts will be blue pocket T's, with the Emblem of the Order silkscreened on the back, and on the front, opposite the pocket: Your Name John Clare Council #15485 Charter Member Let me know if you want your name to appear different than it does on our charter.
