In 1939, a young seminarian by the name of Karol Wojtyla joined an underground theater group to keep alive the culture of Poland in the face of Nazi invasion. We know him today as St. John Paul The Great. He wrote a play contemplating the meaning of the Sarcrament of Matrimony.
In 1989, that play was translated and turned into an English language movie staring Burt Lancaster.
