 Knights Urge Prayer Before Election

Sunday Oct 30

Novena will be addressed to Mary, the Immaculate Conception, Patroness of the U.S.

Dear Brother Knight,  In preparation for Election Day, the Knights of Columbus is calling its members and all the faithful to join together in a novena to the Holy Trinity through the maternal intercession of the Blessed Mother, under her title of the Immaculate Conception, patroness of the United States. On the nine days leading up to Election Day - beginning on Sunday, Oct. 30 and concluding onMonday, Nov. 7 - please join me and Supreme Chaplain Archbishop William Lori in invoking the intercession of Mary, the Immaculate Conception, for our country. In 1791, America's first bishop, John Carroll, entrusted the country to the Blessed Mother, and in 1846 the bishops of the United States reaffirmed that dedication, declaring Mary as patroness of the United States under her title of the Immaculate Conception. I ask that you promote this national novena widely through the ranks of our brother Knights and their families, as well as at parishes in consultation with your local pastor. Thank you, Supreme Knight Carl A. Anderson
