Volunteers Needed, St Clare "Giving Tuesday", November 29th & November 30th

Volunteer opportunities at the end of all three Mass times this coming weekend at St Clare's.  We need 2 volunteers for this Saturday after the 5:00, 1 volunteer for the 8:30 Sunday, and 3 volunteers for the 10:45 on Sunday. Here is a description of expectations and duties; Nov 29/30 is the weekend are having our Parish-wide Giving Tuesday campaign push.  There will be a speaker during the announcements talking about the campaign. We need someone stationed just outside all three church doors, in place before Mass ends and people begin exiting. The volunteer will be standing alongside a large Giving Tuesday poster and also have mailing envelopes - right in the flow of people exiting church. ( On Sundays, we also need one person at coffee & donuts for each Mass.) We hope each person will interact with people about the campaign as they exit the church.  The volunteer would get up right after communion and head to their station, one of the three exit doors of the church ...

Light crowd at SJF today

But still a successful Breakfast.  Special thanks to Steve Hall, who showed up early to learn to make pancakes with Scott Young. $257 was the net profit after expenses.

Sad news from Dan and Jaz Riechers

Jaz has had a miscarriage, and needs an operation to deal with it.  They are requesting prayers, but no extra communication at this time.

Date Change: Monthly Holy Hour at St. John Fisher

The day of our council sponsored Pro-Life Holy Hour at St John Fisher is changing from the first Tuesday of each month to the first Monday.   Brother Deacon Scott suggested the change and we, who normally participate, agreed.     The reasons for making the change: there is no daily Mass on Mondays at SJF church, and there is a Holy Hour every Tuesday morning before Mass.   Please update your calendar to move the Holy Hour at SJF from the first Tuesday to the first Monday of each month and plan to participate .

October 5 volunteers still needed

My spreadsheet is indeed filling up fast!  Message seebert42@gmail.com or call 503-318-1508 to volunteer. Still available are mainly the public facing roles: Shift 1 8am-10:15am  Serving line- Can go to 8:30 Mass if you pull a Judas Shuffle and come immediately after taking communion, not waiting for the end of Mass, to let us know when the crowd is going to hit! A special request:     someone to learn how to be the back up for the occasions when Scott can't be there to flip pancakes.  This position would require a greater commitment- 8am to about 1pm- and requires learning to run the grill and clean the grill.  Pancake flipper is the most unique set of skills we have- it's not that hard, but we need somebody to be Scott Young's backup, especially now that his council of 3591 has a Knights friendly...
