Phil Jarvis Funeral Announced

Image
From Donna: I am now officially a widow.  My husband of 67 years, Phil, passed away Wednesday at about noon of a massive stroke after lingering, unconscious, for four days  in the hospital. After talking to both the funeral home (Youngs in Tigard) and the church ( St. Juan Diego Church in Hillsboro  , click to map ) it was decided to have the funeral on Saturday, January 6th at 10 am with a reception at the church following.  The graveside ceremony won't be until one p.m. because it's in Tigard at the St. Anthony cemetery on Gaarde St. , click link to map.

2023 Holiday Party Media

Image
Our Holiday Party was quite the success this year- with 4 out of our 7 essay contest winners present.  However, due to sound quality in the video, I am also posting this link to our full PDF submitted to the State Competition.   You can also watch the video online on Youtube .  I would suggest, due to sound quality issues, that downloading the PDF first to read along with the kids will help.

Rest In Peace Phil Jarvis

From Donna late last night: He died at noon today.  He never regained conciousness.  That's how he wanted to go-- quick and easy, painless.  He was ready to go Home!   -------- Phil fought the good fight, he finished the race, and now a crown of merit awaits him. Donna is well taken care of at Beaverton Lodge, she claims. More information will be forthcoming.

As we prepare ourselves for Christmas this year and encourage others to do so as well, it is fitting to do some Christmas caroling. Here are some details: Friday December 15th at 6pm Pioneer Courthouse Square 701 SW 6th Ave Portland, OR 97204 Make sure to reach out to all your council members and invite them to come, especially the singers of the council.
